It’s that time of the year again, the nights are starting to get shorter, summer has gone as we move into autumn and the children are getting ready to go back to school. I’m sure most parents have got their children’s school clothes and shoes for this year. However, if this is not the case, you might find this blog an interesting read.
This is my son’s first year at school, and I thought the school would expect all children to be wearing “Standard black school shoes”. How wrong was I. For his first year, the school wanted all children to carry on wearing trainers and, as you can imagine for someone who owns a small trainer business, I was straight onto the website finding him the perfect Nike to wear. The only condition I had was the trainers had to be black, which was fine by me.
I was sensible, knowing what young children are like, they needed to be a sturdy pair which would last or until he grows out of them. I was a little limited to what I could find on the Nike official site. I wanted to find a pair that half resembled a proper pair of school shoes but still showing off that Nike tick.
That is when I moved over to Schuh which is formally a Scottish shoe shop with over 30 stores around the UK and Ireland (For all our overseas readers).
Within minutes, I found the perfect shoe which had the best of both worlds. The trainer mixed in with school shoes.
Nike – Black court borough low 2
This shoe was perfect for what we needed, full black even with the Nike tick. Looks like a school shoe with the sole designed like a school shoe. I think what makes the trainer perfect is the look with the lace, but the strap to tighten, which is very much needed for children. I would say it’s all-star look has the comfort and style needed for school.
How the trainer is made, it gives a real structure to the foot, providing the support needed for children on the go all day playing and climbing, but it still has that retro basketball design. As you would expect with Nike, the shoe is made from real leather. It has a rubber sole which has flex to bend and fit with your foot.
Overall, with 170 reviews online and an overall rating of 5/5 a very good solid pair of trainers which goes all the way up to size 7 for youths.
